This policy explains what personal information Second Fix collects, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Second Fix is a trading name of Damon O’Connell, 128 Mortimer Avenue, Old St Mellons, Cardiff CF3 6YF, the data controller for information collected through this website. Contact: hello@secondfixweb.co.uk.

What we collect

Preview requests: your name, company, email address, phone number (if given), website address, trade, areas covered and any notes.
Projects: the content you send us for your site, and the billing details needed to invoice you.
Emails: anything you send us by email.

If we sent you a report or preview you didn’t ask for: we took your business name, website content and published contact details from your public website, to inspect your site and, in some cases, prepare a private redesign of your homepage, and offer them to you. We do this on the basis of legitimate interests. Reports and previews are never published: they sit on unlisted pages hidden from search engines. If you tell us you’re not interested, we delete them and won’t contact you again.

The instant preview and the website check run in your browser. What you type into them isn’t sent to us unless you go on to request a free preview.

Why we use it

To prepare your free preview and quote, which you’ve asked for (steps before a contract).
To deliver and support your project and any changes you ask for (performing a contract).
To keep business and tax records (legal obligation).

We email a small number of limited companies and LLPs whose websites we’ve inspected, using the business address published on their site, and we say where we found it. Every email includes an easy way to opt out, and we honour it straight away. We never sell your details.

Who we share it with

Only the services we use to run the business: our form provider, email provider, website host and visit counter (Cloudflare) and, if you pay by card, Stripe. Each handles your data under its own privacy terms. We don’t see or store your card details.

How long we keep it

Previews and preview requests that don’t become projects: deleted after 12 months, or straight away if you ask.
Project and billing records: six years, for tax purposes.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use tracking or advertising cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or identify individual visitors. The instant preview and website check may save your answers in your own browser so they’re still there if you come back. You can clear them at any time.
